Yangang to host International Youth Conclave on tourism development
The conclave, hosted by the Yangang Tourism Development Committee (YTDC), will focus on emerging tourism destinations in Sikkim, particularly Yangang, and will discuss strategies for long-term tourism growth.

The International Youth Conclave for Tourism Development will be held from April 12 to 14, 2025, in Yangang, South Sikkim, marking a key milestone in the state’s 50 Years of Statehood celebrations. The event, affiliated with the Sikkim Tourism Department, aims to bring together youth leaders, tourism experts, and global delegates to explore sustainable tourism opportunities and infrastructure development in the region.
The conclave, hosted by the Yangang Tourism Development Committee (YTDC), will focus on emerging tourism destinations in Sikkim, particularly Yangang, and will discuss strategies for long-term tourism growth. "Tourism has always been a priority for our government. This conclave aligns with our vision of Sunaulo, Samriddha, and Samartha Sikkim and will help us promote sustainable tourism while preserving local heritage," said Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
The event will feature heritage walks, cultural rallies, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and site visits to key tourism projects like the Dhapper to Bhaleydhunga Ropeway and the Skywalk. "This conclave is a vital step toward positioning Sikkim as a global tourism destination, ensuring that local communities benefit from tourism growth," said Hon’ble Dy. Speaker Smt. Raj Kumari Thapa.
With 176 delegates from India and abroad expected to attend, the conclave will focus on beautifying destinations, creating employment, and ensuring safety for tourists. The YTDC, in collaboration with the Sikkim Tourism Department and local stakeholders, will work towards implementing key recommendations post-event to enhance tourism infrastructure and economic opportunities in the region.
