The grand finale of the 2nd Edition of the Narok Rumsa Chinlop Lepcha Music Competition, organized by Vibes Sikkim, was held at Manan Kendra in Gangtok, bringing together a celebration of the vibrant Lepcha culture. The event saw remarkable performances from talented musicians, all vying for the top spots in the competition.
Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, Minister for Forest & Environment, Mines & Geology, and Science & Technology departments, graced the event as the chief guest, underscoring the significance of preserving and promoting the rich musical heritage of the Lepcha community. The event also saw the presence of Sonam Rinchen Lepcha, ADC of Mangan District, and former Chairman Chungkipu Lepcha, along with Millet Man Tshering Gyatso Lepcha, who served as guests of honor.
The competition, which showcased the musical talents of the Lepcha community, included various performances reflecting the unique traditions and folklore of the region. After an exciting series of performances, the winners were announced:
1st Place – Nim Tshering Lepcha from Hee Gyathang, Dzongu
2nd Place – Tokbu Theng Lepcha from Lingthem, Dzongu
3rd Place – Uden Lepcha from Rey Mindu
