Unity and spirit shine at 79th Independence Day Football Tournament semi-final in Singhik

The semi-final match of the 79th Independence Day Open Football Tournament 2025 was held with great enthusiasm at the Singhik School Ground. Shri Tashi Norbu Lachungpa, District Youth President and Youth Convener of Mangan District, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The event was jointly organized by the Panchayats of 13-Singhik Sentam GPU, the Singhik Municipal Committee (SMC), the local school, and the Singhik Youth Club.
Lachungpa was accompanied by a strong youth delegation that included District Youth Coordinator Shri Ajit Tsong, District Youth General Secretary Shri Tsewang Phurba Sherpa, District Press and Media In-charge Shri Durgey Tshong, CLC Youth Coordinator Shri Dawa Tshering Bhutia, CLC General Secretary Moses Lepcha, and other key youth leaders such as Shri Bhim Ren Tshering Lepcha and Dzongu CLC Youth Coordinator Shri Loks Wanem. Student representatives from North Bengal Buddhist Degree College (NBBDC) and active youth from the Lachen Mangan Constituency also participated, highlighting the community’s vibrant spirit.
In his address, Lachungpa extended warm wishes for a joyful Independence Day to all attendees. He emphasized the importance of remembering the sacrifices made by the nation’s freedom fighters and urged everyone to stay united. “It is imperative that we commemorate the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and remain committed to the progress of our state and nation,” he said.
