Sikkim Police have arrested two senior members of the Gorkha Seva Sena—Bikramadi Rai from Darjeeling and Subash Mani Singh from Kalimpong—after the state Home Department filed a First Information Report (FIR) at Sadar Police Station in Gangtok. The FIR accuses them of being involved in activities that could disturb public order and harm the state's integrity.
The arrests are part of a wider investigation into the functioning of the Gorkha Seva Sena. Another individual, Noel Sharma, has also been named in the FIR. However, police officials have not yet shared specific details about the nature of the charges.
Subash Mani Singh confirmed his arrest on Facebook, where he stated that he had been taken into custody by Sikkim Police. He also mentioned that he had appeared for an RTI appeal hearing on June 4, 2025, and claimed that his arrest was linked to that event. He has called the arrest unfair and without proper reason.
