The National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Ltd. (NHIDCL) has announced that traffic will be temporarily stopped on an important part of National Highway-10 (NH-10) between Sevoke and Rangpo due to safety concerns.

According to an official office order issued by Rahul Kumar Gupta, General Manager (Projects) and Highway Administrator for NH-10 under the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, vehicular movement will be entirely suspended from 6 PM on August 6 to 9 AM on August 8, 2025, on two crucial points of the highway—Km 0.0 at Coronation Bridge and Km 30.0 near Chitrey. The decision has been taken under Section 33 of the Control of National Highways (Land and Traffic) Act, 2002, in the interest of public safety.

The office of the Project Monitoring Unit (PMU) Siliguri, located at Salugara, has urged the general public and all stakeholders to strictly adhere to the closure directive during the specified time period. The NHIDCL further advised that traffic regulation and alternate routing will be coordinated by the respective District Administrations to ensure minimal disruption and safe travel for commuters.
