The Chasok Tongnam Celebration Committee on Saturday organized a thanksgiving program to acknowledge the support and participation of the people in making the Chasok Tongnam 2024 festivities a success.

The event was held under the guidance of Indrahang Subba, Member of Parliament, and Bhim Hang Limboo, Minister of Buildings & Housing and Labour Department, Government of Sikkim. Both leaders emphasized the cultural importance of the festival and expressed gratitude to the community for preserving and promoting Limboo traditions.

Chasok Tongnam, celebrated by the Limboo community, is among the most significant harvest festivals in Sikkim. It is an occasion to offer thanks for the year’s agricultural yield while praying for prosperity, good health, and collective well-being. The festival also underscores the community’s deep-rooted bond with nature and its dependence on seasonal cycles.
