Sikkim’s ace archer Tarundeep Rai has created history by securing a bronze medal in archery at the 38th National Games 2025 held in Uttarakhand. This remarkable achievement marks Sikkim’s first-ever medal at the prestigious sporting event, making it a landmark moment for the state.

Tarundeep Rai, known for his precision and experience, showcased his skills against the country’s top archers, bringing pride to Sikkim and the Northeast.

Celebrating his victory, Tarundeep took to Facebook to share his joy, dedicating the medal to his home state and aspiring young athletes. In his heartfelt message, he wrote:

"The Medal which I have won today here in the 38th National Games Uttarakhand truly belongs to my home state Sikkim and the younger generation who want to pursue sports as their career. Because it’s not only my potential that I have won, but there is a Sikkimese blood which can be trained, fight & win."

He also expressed gratitude to Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang, his family, coaches Chungda Sherpa and Sonam Tshering Bhutia, the Sikkim Archery Association, Sikkim Olympic Association, Army Sports Institute and his sponsors for their support.
