Successful conclusion of air raid warning mock drill at Singtam in Gangtok

The Air Raid Warning Mock Drill conducted at Singtam, under Gangtok District, was concluded successfully today. The drill, which simulated an air strike scenario, saw active participation from all relevant stakeholders and line departments, ensuring a thorough and well-executed operation.
This mock drill was part of a nationwide exercise conducted across 244 districts of India, as per the directives of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. The exercise aimed to test the preparedness and coordination of various departments and agencies in the event of an air strike.
Following the drill, a debriefing session was held, chaired by the District Magistrate of Gangtok, with the Senior Superintendent of Police Gangtok in attendance. The session provided an opportunity for all participating officials and representatives from the line departments to review the drill’s execution and identify areas for improvement.
Both the District Magistrate and Senior Superintendent of Police addressed the media after the session, highlighting the successful conduct of the drill and emphasizing the importance of such preparedness exercises in ensuring the safety and security of the region.
