STNM Hospital has issued an official clarification following public concern sparked by a viral video shared by social media user Mr. Ongdi Pintso, which claimed that a lift at the hospital was not functioning. The video, which quickly garnered attention online, prompted the hospital administration to investigate and address the situation promptly.

According to a press release from the Health Department, the lift in question was fully functional and had been temporarily paused for a few minutes. Hospital authorities explained that the brief halt occurred as the designated lift attendant had stepped away to attend to a personal emergency. The decision to momentarily stop the lift was made purely for public safety, as hospital policy mandates that lifts should not operate unattended to prevent potential misuse or emergency risks.

To provide clarity and maintain transparency, the hospital later released a follow-up video showing the lift back in operation and catering to patients and visitors as usual. Hospital officials emphasized that no technical malfunction had occurred and that the services had resumed within minutes of the temporary pause.

“We sincerely appreciate the concern shown by members of the public. At STNM Hospital, the safety, comfort, and trust of our patients and their families remain our top priorities,” the statement read.
