State’s health workers shine in sportsmanship at first state-level badminton championship in Namchi

The 1st State Level Health Employees Badminton Championship 2025 concluded today at the Indoor Stadium in Namchi, marking a significant celebration of National Doctor’s Day and the 50th Glorious Year of Sikkim’s Statehood. The championship, organized by Namchi District Hospital in collaboration with the Badminton Association of Namchi as the technical partner, brought together medical professionals from across the state in a spirited display of athleticism and unity.
The closing ceremony was graced by Hon’ble MLA of 11-Namchi Singithang and Chairman of DACS, Shri Satish Chandra Rai, who served as the Chief Guest. In his address, Rai, also the Chief Patron of the event, applauded the enthusiasm of the participating health workers and emphasized the importance of physical well-being in the demanding field of healthcare.
Adding further distinction to the event, Shri Jacob Khaling, Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, SKM Spokesperson, and President of the Badminton Association of Sikkim, was invited as the Guest of Honour and was warmly felicitated by the organizers. His presence highlighted the government’s commitment to promoting sports and health across all sectors.

Adhikari, Director-cum-Chief Medical Officer, Namchi District Hospital, as the Patron. Their leadership and vision ensured the successful conduct of this landmark event.
