A special screening of the Aamir Khan-starrer Sitare Zameen Par was organised for Divyangjan and their families at Vajra Cinema Hall on July 3. The event was spearheaded by the Composite Regional Centre for Skill Development, Rehabilitation and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (CRC-Sikkim), in collaboration with Vajra Hall.
A total of 30 Divyangjan individuals, accompanied by their parents, guardians, and CRC-Sikkim staff, participated in the screening. The film, known for its powerful portrayal of a differently-abled child overcoming societal and academic pressures, left a deep emotional impact on the attendees.
Speaking at the event, Pushpanjali Gupta, Director of CRC-Sikkim, highlighted the intent behind the initiative. “The main idea behind the screening was for the Divyangjan to relate to the movie and feel inspired. The film left an emotional message for all of us — to keep trying, keep believing in our children, and never give up,” she said.
