Speaker Mingma Norbu Sherpa highlights Sikkim’s vision at Sikkim@50 Conclave in New Delhi

Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly, Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa, participated in the prestigious Sikkim@50 Conclave organized by India Today in collaboration with the Government of Sikkim. The event, held in New Delhi, brought together key leaders and experts to discuss Sikkim’s growth trajectory and future prospects.
During the afternoon session titled “Sikkim@47,” Shri Mingma Norbu Sherpa joined a panel alongside Press Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Yougan Tamang; Political Secretary to the Chief Minister, Mr. Bikash Basnet; and Professor Mahendra P Lama, founding Vice Chancellor of Sikkim University and Chief Economic Advisor to the Chief Minister.
The session revolved around themes of strategic foresight, youthful leadership, and harnessing local wisdom to build a resilient and inclusive future for the state. In his address, Hon’ble Speaker emphasized that concerns raised by the opposition in the State Assembly are being duly acknowledged and addressed by the Leader of the House, reflecting a democratic and responsive governance process.
Shri Mingma also drew attention to the Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Viksit Bharat, Viksit Sikkim,’ highlighting that this developmental framework is actively embraced throughout the state. He reiterated the Chief Minister’s unwavering commitment to the welfare and progress of Sikkim and its people.
