Soreng hosts 2nd District Level Athletics Meet with enthusiastic participation
Those who excelled in their respective events have now earned the opportunity to represent Soreng district at the State Athletics Meet 2025, which will be held at Khel Gaon, Reshithang, Ranka, Gangtok.

The 2nd District Level Athletics Meet was successfully held at the Don Bosco School Ground in Soreng Malbasey, bringing together young athletes from various schools across the district. The event was organized by the Soreng District Athletic Association with the support of Sun Pharma Laboratories Ltd. Sikkim and Stars of Hope.
The competition featured multiple track and field events, including shot put, long jump, javelin throw, discus throw, and various track races. The meet not only showcased the talent and determination of the young participants but also emphasized the importance of teamwork, dedication, and sportsmanship.
Students competed in different age categories—Under-14, Under-16, Under-18, and the Open category. Those who excelled in their respective events have now earned the opportunity to represent Soreng district at the State Athletics Meet 2025, which will be held at Khel Gaon, Reshithang, Ranka, Gangtok.
The event concluded on a high note, with winners receiving medals and certificates in recognition of their outstanding performances. Participants displayed remarkable enthusiasm and competitive spirit throughout the competition.
Moreover, in celebration of the International Year of Cooperatives, the Cooperation Department extended financial support to ensure the smooth execution of the event. Several individuals from different fields within the district also contributed towards making the event a success.
