Soreng district launches Poshan Pakhwada with focus on early child nutrition

The Women, Child, Senior Citizen and Divyangjan Welfare Department of Soreng District kicked off the district-level Poshan Pakhwada programme on Monday at the Kamling Suldung Gram Panchayat Kendra (GPK), reaffirming its commitment to promoting nutrition and health awareness at the grassroots level.

The event began with the Poshan pledge, symbolizing collective dedication toward achieving sustainable nutritional goals. Mrs. Gauri Tamang, Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) of Soreng, addressed the gathering, highlighting the critical importance of the first 1000 days in a child’s life and the role of nurturing practices during this period.

The event also emphasized the significance of Take-Home Ration (THR) distributed to pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children aged 0-3 years by the Nutrition Cell.
