The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has extended a warm welcome to the Union Budget 2025-26, expressing its strong support for the fiscal policies outlined by the Union government. The endorsement came during an interactive session on the budget held in Gangtok on Saturday, in the presence of Union Minister of State (MoS) Murlidhar Mohol.
Representing the SKM party at the event were Martam-Rumtek MLA Sonam Venchungpa, Chief Minister’s Political Secretary Bikash Basnet, and Chief Minister’s Press Secretary Yougan Tamang.
Speaking on behalf of the party, MLA Sonam Venchungpa extended gratitude to the Union Minister of State for his visit and for providing insights into the budget’s key provisions. He reaffirmed the SKM government’s commitment to working in tandem with the Centre, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, to advance Sikkim’s growth and prosperity.
Venchungpa further highlighted the vision of Chief Minister PS Golay, emphasizing his collaborative efforts with the Union government to elevate Sikkim’s development trajectory. He also underscored the shared goal of building a ‘Vikshit Bharat’ by 2047, aligning with the long-term national development agenda.
On behalf of the SKM government, Venchungpa welcomed the Union Budget 2025-26, acknowledging its provisions for Sikkim’s development and thanking the MoS for outlining its benefits.
