SKM Student’s Wing felicitates newly appointed leaders in Gangtok

During the programme, each of the appointees expressed their deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for giving them this opportunity to serve the people of Sikkim.

The Student’s Wing of the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) organised a special felicitation programme in Gangtok to congratulate several newly appointed individuals who have taken up key roles under the government. The event was held to honour Chairpersons, Additional Political Secretary (APS), and Officers on Special Duty (OSDs) who were recently appointed to various posts.

The programme was led by Aditya Golay, who is not only the Vice President Incharge of the SKM Student’s Wing but also a respected Member of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly. He chaired the event and personally extended warm greetings to all the new appointees. He offered traditional khadas as a mark of respect and welcome.

Among the dignitaries who were honoured during the event were:

- Shri Sonam Chopel Sherpa, Chairperson of the Sikkim Student’s Welfare Board

- Smt. Bhim Kumari Sharma, Chairperson of the Culture Department

- Shri Tshering Wangchuk Lepcha, Additional Political Secretary to the Hon’ble Chief Minister

- Shri Rewaj Chettri, OSD to the Hon’ble Chief Minister

- Shri Gagan Gurung, OSD to the Irrigation Department

- Shri Nosang Limboo, OSD to the Hon’ble Member of Parliament

- Shri Neeraj Adhikari, Member of the Institute for Transforming Sikkim

- Shri Sanjay Dilpali Rai, Chairperson of the Sikkim Art, Culture and Heritage Development Board

During the programme, each of the appointees expressed their deep gratitude to the Hon’ble Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for giving them this opportunity to serve the people of Sikkim. They said they were honoured to be trusted with such important responsibilities. They also assured that they would do their duties sincerely and work towards building a better Sikkim, in line with the vision of a “Sunaulo, Samriddha ani Samarth Sikkim” as set forth by the Chief Minister.

Aditya Golay, in his speech, praised the dedication and potential of the new appointees. He reminded them that holding a public position is not just about power but about responsibility. He said that today’s young leaders must serve the people with honesty, sincerity, and a sense of purpose.

“We are all part of a new generation that must work hard to take Sikkim forward. These appointments are not just about posts and titles, but about taking on the responsibility of improving people’s lives,” said Aditya Golay. He further added that he had full faith in the ability of the new appointees to contribute meaningfully to the state's progress.
