SKM strengthens grassroots presence with ward-level committees in Yuksom Tashiding

In a significant move to reinforce its grassroots presence, the Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) party has successfully formed ward-level committees (WLCs) for the Kongri Labdang Gram Panchayat Unit (GPU) under the 01 Yuksom Tashiding Constituency in Gyalshing District. The initiative reflects the party’s commitment to participatory governance and community engagement, aligning with the vision of SKM party president Prem Singh Tamang Golay.

The committee formation was guided by Shri Tshering T Bhutia, Party Vice President In-charge of the 01 Yuksom Tashiding Constituency, ensuring that the process adhered to transparency and public participation. Key leaders of the Constituency Level Committee (CLC), including Shri Nandu Gurung (President), Shri Bhagiraj Ghimire (General Secretary), Shri S K Sampang (Coordinator), and Shri D L Shivakoti (Organisation Secretary), played an active role in overseeing the process. They were joined by several district-level officials, social service wing members, youth convenors, media and publicity coordinators, and former block and ward-level executives.

Committee members were selected based on public choice, emphasizing representation of community needs and aspirations. This participatory approach ensures that local voices are heard and incorporated into decision-making at the grassroots level. The formation of these WLCs is seen as a strategic step to strengthen the party’s organizational base and to implement the SKM vision effectively at the constituency level.
