SKM sports wing extends best wishes to Sikkim contingent for 38th National Games
The SKM Sports Wing expressed its deep gratitude to Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay) for his support and vision in developing sports in Sikkim.

The SKM Sports Wing has extended its heartfelt best wishes to the Sikkim contingent set to compete in the 38th National Games in Uttarakhand from January 28 to February 14, 2025. With nearly 45 athletes and officials representing the state, Sikkim will participate in five disciplines—Archery, Boxing, Cycling, Football (Girls), and Taekwondo—marking its most significant participation in the prestigious national event.
Legendary archer and Padma Shri awardee Tarundeep Rai has been designated as the flag bearer for the grand opening ceremony. His leadership is expected to inspire the entire contingent as they showcase their skills on the national stage.
MLA and Advisor to the SKM Sports Wing, Tenzing N. Lamtha, expressed his encouragement, stating, “This historic participation is a testament to the growing support for sports under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay). His emphasis on athlete welfare and infrastructure development has played a pivotal role in achieving this milestone.”
Adding to the sentiment, SKM Sports Wing President Rinzing Wangyal highlighted the significance of this participation, remarking, “The growing sports culture in Sikkim is evident through the increasing number of athletes competing at national levels. We remain committed to nurturing talent and providing opportunities for aspiring athletes.”
General Secretary Nirmal Chettri also commended the hard work and dedication of the athletes, stating, “Competing at this level is a remarkable achievement. The determination and team spirit displayed by our athletes are truly commendable, and we stand in full support of their journey to success.”
