SKM Legislators’ meeting focuses on development, cleanliness and local employment in Sikkim

The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) held its 4th edition of the legislators' meeting at Samman Bhawan under the leadership of Chief Minister and Party President P.S. Golay. The meeting saw active participation from SKM legislators, advisors, political secretaries, and press officials.
Key discussions centered around the grand celebration of the SKM party's 13th Foundation Day, with Chief Minister Golay urging members to highlight the party’s achievements and developmental work. The meeting also addressed pressing concerns about the influx of impermissible individuals into villages and towns. A new measure, including a temporary work permit system at the GPU level, was introduced to monitor external manpower.
The Chief Minister also took a strong stance against illegal subletting of trade licenses, promising to focus on skill development and local employment. A clean and hygienic Sikkim was also emphasized, with government offices and public spaces being urged to maintain higher cleanliness standards.
Moreover, the formation of a State Planning and Development Board was discussed, along with the announcement of an upcoming pilgrimage to Mahakumbh in February 2025 and a joint meeting with Darjeeling representatives.
