SKM concludes ward-level committee drive in Yuksam-Tashiding, strengthens grassroots presence

The ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) successfully concluded its ward-level committee (WLC) formation drive in the Yuksam-Tashiding constituency today, marking the culmination of a two-week-long initiative that began on August 27. The final program was held at Rimbi-Timbrong, completing the formation of committees in all 64 wards of the constituency.

The drive was organized by the Constituency-Level Committee (CLC), Yuksam-Tashiding, under the guidance of area MLA and Minister Shri Tshering T. Bhutia, following directives from the party headquarters. Leading the CLC team were President Shri Nandu Gurung, General Secretary Shri Bhagi Raj Ghimirey, Coordinator Shri S.K. Sampang, along with executive and working members.

The program was attended by senior SKM leaders, including Senior Vice President Shri Sangay Lepcha, Advisor to the Chief Minister Shri G.M. Lepcha, Advisor to State Medicinal Plants Board Shri N.B. Limboo, Zilla Adakshya (Geyzing) Shri D.S. Limboo, Chairman Ecclesiastical Affairs Shri Chokay Kazi, Chairperson Sikkim Consumer Cooperative Smt Shanti Limboo, and OSD Tourism & Civil Aviation Shri Mingma Lepcha.

Addressing the gathering, CLC President Shri Nandu Gurung congratulated the newly appointed committee members, wishing them a successful tenure. He emphasized the party’s principles and ideologies, highlighting upcoming programs and policies, and urged ward committees to actively work for the welfare of the people through various state government and party initiatives.

Earlier, CLC General Secretary Shri Bhagi Raj Ghimirey briefed attendees on the objectives of the ward-level committee formation drive, explaining its role in strengthening the party’s grassroots presence and fostering closer connections with the constituency.
