The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) has launched its ward-level committee formation drive in the Yuksam-Tashiding constituency, strengthening its grassroots presence under the leadership of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang-Golay and the guidance of Area MLA and Minister Tshering T. Bhutia.
The drive began from Mangnam ward, where the Constituency Level Committee (CLC) led by President Nandu Gurung convened a coordination meeting. During the meeting, a new ward-level committee was formally constituted, marking the first step of the organizational expansion.
The initiative continued at Dhuppi ward, where committees for the Dhuppi–Narkhola block were set up. With this, the formation process for the Karjee-Mangnam and Dhuppi-Narkhola GPUs was successfully completed.
The meetings were attended by CLC leaders, including General Secretary Bhagi Raj Ghimirey, Coordinator S.K. Sampang, Press & Publicity Secretary Pritam Gurung, and several other key members. They were joined by elected representatives from the Zilla and Gram Panchayats, underlining the importance of coordination between grassroots workers and local governance institutions.
CLC President Nandu Gurung congratulated the newly appointed members, calling on them to remain united and work in close coordination with the party’s leadership. “These committees are the foundation of our party’s strength. We urge every member to dedicate themselves to the welfare of the people and to carry forward the vision of the Hon’ble Chief Minister,” he said.
CLC General Secretary Bhagi Raj Ghimirey echoed the sentiment, emphasizing that the new appointees have a responsibility to connect with the people and ensure that their concerns reach the right platforms. “Our role is to act as a bridge between the government and the public. Through these committees, we will work to address local needs effectively,” he said.
