Skill development training on solar panel installation begins in Lingchom

A total of 30 local youths have enrolled in the 15-day training program. During this period, they will gain hands-on experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, and the making of solar LED bulbs.

A skill development training program on solar panel installation, maintenance, and home appliance repair was inaugurated at the Lingchom GPU office. The training is being conducted by Medhavi Foundation with support from the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), Gangtok.

The event was attended by Chewang Phurba Sherpa, Panchayat President; Ritvij Sharma, Manager, SIDBI Bank; Utpal Mukapadhay, General Manager, Medhavi Foundation; and Ranabir Saha, Assistant Regional Manager, Medhavi Foundation.

A total of 30 local youths have enrolled in the 15-day training program. During this period, they will gain hands-on experience in solar panel installation, maintenance, and the making of solar LED bulbs. To ensure quality training, Medhavi Foundation has engaged professional trainers, Pinak Chandra Das and Somjit Saha, who bring expertise in the field.

Speaking at the event, Aftab Ansari, Centre Manager stated the importance of the training and encouraged participants to take full advantage of the opportunity. He also highlighted the financial assistance available through SIDBI Bank, including loans and grants, which can help trainees start their own ventures in the renewable energy sector.
