Dup Pintso Kaleon, Chairman of the Sikkim State Co-operative Bank Ltd. (SISCO Bank), has expressed profound gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang for entrusting him with the leadership of one of the state’s premier financial institutions.
In his official message released this week, Shri Kaleon reflected on the honour and responsibility of heading SISCO Bank at a crucial juncture in the state's development, pledging his unwavering commitment to the economic progress and welfare of the Sikkimese people.
“With deep humility, I express my sincere gratitude to Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Prem Singh Tamang Sir for giving me this opportunity,” stated Kaleon. “It is an honour to contribute to the advancement of our State’s financial sector and work toward the prosperity of our citizens.”
He lauded the Chief Minister's visionary governance over the past five years, praising the administration’s consistent focus on economic growth, infrastructure development, and inclusive social welfare. He acknowledged how these efforts have created tangible improvements in people’s lives and laid the foundation for long-term sustainability.
Recognising the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead, especially in the context of global economic uncertainties, the Chairman emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration across sectors to realise the socio-economic vision set forth by Chief Minister Tamang. “By collaborating closely and utilizing our resources optimally, we stand to bring about meaningful change for all Sikkimese,” he noted.
Shri Kaleon also highlighted the role of SISCO Bank in expanding financial access, deepening cooperative networks, and promoting financial literacy in both rural and urban pockets of the state. Under his leadership, the bank has focused on improving outreach, strengthening grassroots-level cooperative structures, and offering innovative financial products tailored to Sikkim’s diverse communities.
In a significant milestone for the bank and the state, Shri Kaleon was recently nominated as a member of the General Council of the National Co-Operative Development Corporation (NCDC), an apex body under the Ministry of Cooperation, headed by Union Minister Shri Amit Shah. The nomination, he said, is a testament to the trust and support extended to him by the members of SISCO Bank and reflects the bank’s growing stature at the national level.
