In a major boost to sports development in Sikkim, SIMFED (Sikkim Industrial Development & Investment Corporation Limited) has extended its sponsorship support to the upcoming SPL (Sikkim Premier League). The sponsorship cheque was officially handed over by SIMFED Chairman, Tenzing Dorjee Bhutia, to Football Development (P) Ltd., the organization behind the prestigious football league.
The sponsorship reflects SIMFED's ongoing commitment to promoting sports, particularly football, at the grassroots level. It highlights the organization’s efforts to provide platforms for young athletes in Sikkim to showcase their skills and compete at higher levels.
During the ceremony, Shri Bhutia praised the organizers of the SPL for their continuous efforts in fostering young sporting talent. "This initiative aligns perfectly with our vision to empower youth through sports. We are proud to support such endeavors that help shape the future of our state's sporting culture," he remarked.
The Chairman also expressed gratitude to Sikkim's Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), for his visionary leadership and unwavering support in transforming the state’s sports infrastructure and enhancing youth development programs. "Under the guidance of our CM, we are committed to creating more opportunities for our young talents to excel," Bhutia added.
