Pravesh Tamang, the Art Director of Music In Motion Dance Academy, is all set to represent the state and the nation at two of Europe’s most prestigious international dance festivals this August — the Fair Play Dance Camp in Krakow, Poland, and Summer Dance Forever in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
Music In Motion Dance Academy, established in 2014 and located at MG Marg in Gangtok’s New Market area, has steadily grown into a hub for dance excellence. Under the leadership of Tamang, the academy has produced a new generation of talented dancers. Now, its journey takes a global leap as its director prepares to perform and compete on international stages.
The Fair Play Dance Camp, known as Europe’s largest urban dance festival, is celebrating its 15th anniversary this year. The event will be held from August 11 to August 18 in Krakow, culminating in the high-energy All-Style Dance Battle on August 15. Shortly after, Mr. Tamang will travel to Amsterdam to participate in the Summer Dance Forever event from August 21 to August 25, where he will compete in both the House Dance Battle and the renowned Hip Hop Forever category.
Speaking with quiet determination, Tamang said, “This has been my dream camp for the last ten years. To finally be a part of it feels surreal. I want to tell every young artist — believe in your dreams. With hard work, dedication, and self-belief, anything is possible.”
This is not Tamang’s first international success. In 2023, he represented India in Colombo, Sri Lanka, bringing home two prestigious accolades — Winner in the Solo Category and the Shining Star Award, further strengthening Sikkim’s reputation in the global dance community.

Music In Motion Academy recently launched the “Each One Teach One Camp”, a free dance and awareness camp aimed at nurturing underprivileged talents across Sikkim. Set to begin in September 2025, the initiative is supported by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, whose unwavering support for the arts has inspired many.
Tamang expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Sikkim, particularly the Honourable Chief Minister and Madam Chief Minister, stating, “I am deeply grateful for their support and recognition. Their encouragement and belief in Sikkimese artists continue to inspire and empower us. I truly feel blessed under their guidance.”
