Phur Deeki Sherpa, a proud daughter of Lt. Chenga Sherpa from Latuk in the Pakyong District, has once again etched her name in the history of kickboxing. She emerged victorious at the WAKO India National Kickboxing Pro League, securing the prestigious belt for the second time in the -56kg Low Kick category. The championship, which took place from April 15 to 17, 2025, at Nawab Ali Park in Khidderpore, Kolkata, West Bengal, saw Phur Deeki outshine her competitors in a fiercely contested event.
Representing the Sikkim Association of Kickboxing (SAKO), Phur Deeki's remarkable performance in this championship has brought immense pride to her home state, Sikkim. Known for her incredible strength, technique, and determination, Phur Deeki’s victory in the -56kg Low Kick category is a testament to her hard work and dedication to the sport.
Phur Deeki has been an outstanding performer in the national kickboxing circuit, having participated in eight national kickboxing championships over the years. In these competitions, she has secured an impressive total of eight medals, which includes five gold, two silver and one bronze.
