The Sikkim Cricket Association (SICA) is proud to announce that Mr. Palzor Tamang, a prominent member of the Sikkim Senior Men’s Cricket Team, has signed a six-month contract with Felling Cricket Club in England. This marks a significant milestone as Tamang becomes the second cricketer from Sikkim to secure an overseas club contract, following in the footsteps of Mr. Nilesh Lamichaney.

Tamang has already arrived in England and will represent Felling Cricket Club in various competitions, including the prestigious North East Premier League, which is affiliated with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and forms part of the ECB Premier League structure. His contract is set to elevate his game while also giving him the opportunity to gain invaluable experience on the international stage.

A standout seam bowler, Tamang has been an integral part of Sikkim's cricket journey since his debut during the 2018-19 season. In January 2020, he etched his name in history by becoming the first homegrown cricketer from Sikkim to claim a five-wicket haul in first-class cricket. He further cemented his legacy by becoming the first player from the state to reach 50 wickets in first-class matches.

Tamang’s prowess is not limited to bowling. In the 2023-24 season, he scored a crucial first-class century against Arunachal Pradesh, showcasing his all-round capabilities. His leadership was also instrumental in his role as captain of the Sikkim Senior Men’s Team during the 2023-24 season, where he led with poise and determination.

In addition to his cricketing achievements, Tamang serves as an Inspector in Sikkim Police, balancing his professional career with his passion for the sport.

This contract with Felling Cricket Club comes at a pivotal time, as Tamang will return to Sikkim in September to represent the state in the upcoming Indian domestic season.
