Sikkim's Mountain Fighter’s Karate Academy wins 22 medals at 4th Gorkha Cup Karate Championship

Mountain Fighter’s Karate Academy brought laurels to Sikkim by securing a total of 22 medals, including 10 gold, 10 silver, and 2 bronze, at the prestigious 4th Gorkha Cup Karate Championship 2024. The event showcased the Academy's exceptional talent and dedication under the guidance of Coach Binam Gurung, the Technical Director of the Academy.

Among the standout performers was Awadhi Chettri, who clinched two gold medals, while Alaen C Lepcha and Neshant Mandal added a gold and a silver each to the Academy's tally. Muskan Tamang, Depshikha Mukhia, Zerusha Tamang, Sonu Hang Limboo, and Arohi Chettri also won gold medals, demonstrating their dominance in their respective categories.

Silver medalists included Bhevin Sharma, Tarun Bhujel (2), Apakcha Subba, Abhigyan Poudyal, Taya Machong Rai (2), and Nevika Sharma, reflecting the team’s consistency across various events. Bronze medals were secured by Anjum Subba and Choshang Rai, further highlighting the Academy's all-around performance.

Coach Binam Gurung expressed pride in his team and said , “This victory is a testament to the hard work and discipline of our students. It also underscores the growing prominence of martial arts in Sikkim.”
