Sikkim's JNV Phodong students shine in National Meteorological Olympiad
The students – Tshering Lhamu Lepcha (VIII), Muchen Tamang (IX), Choden Ongmu Lachenpa (IX), Pem Domo Lachenpa (XI), Arpana Subba (XI), and Kritika Nautiyal (IX) – were selected from Sikkim State to compete at the national level after excelling in the earlier rounds of the prestigious competition.

Six students from JNV Phodong, Mangan, Sikkim, have made the state proud by securing positions in the National Meteorological Olympiad held at the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) Headquarters, New Delhi.
The students – Tshering Lhamu Lepcha (VIII), Muchen Tamang (IX), Choden Ongmu Lachenpa (IX), Pem Domo Lachenpa (XI), Arpana Subba (XI), and Kritika Nautiyal (IX) – were selected from Sikkim State to compete at the national level after excelling in the earlier rounds of the prestigious competition.
Recognizing their outstanding performance, the students were awarded cash prizes of ₹5000, ₹3000, and ₹2000, along with mementos and certificates, presented by the Chairman of IMD, Government of India.
The achievement highlights the scientific aptitude and dedication of JNV Phodong students towards meteorological studies. The school expressed immense pride in their students' success and lauded their hard work and commitment.
