Thieves broke into the pharmacy between 2:00 AM and 3:00 AM, stealing a significant amount of Rs 1.5 lakh in cash, which also included coins of Rs 10 and Rs 20. The theft was discovered by the pharmacy’s owner, 68-year-old Niranjan Kr. Sarda, who reported the crime to Sadar Police Station.

Sarda said that the culprits entered LifeLine Medico through a passage, bypassing the main entrance, and executed the robbery undetected. The case has been officially registered under sections 331(3)/305(a) BNS, 2023, as police began their investigation.

The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage from LifeLine Medico and nearby establishments in a bid to identify the culprits responsible for the crime. The footage is expected to provide vital clues that could help authorities track down the criminals. As the investigation progresses, the police are also exploring other leads to ensure that those responsible are caught and brought to justice.

This robbery comes at a time when the local community is already concerned about security in the area, especially with small businesses being targeted. LifeLine Medico has been a trusted name in the region for years, making the robbery particularly unsettling for residents. In response to rising concerns, local police have advised business owners particularly those dealing with cash transactions, to increase their security measures. They have recommended the installation of advanced surveillance systems, as well as better storage solutions for cash to deter future thefts.
