Cattle rearers in the Yuksam-Tashiding constituency who lost their milch animals due to Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) earlier this year have received financial assistance as promised by the state government. The support was provided under the leadership of Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang.
Fulfilling the commitment made to affected farmers, CLC President Nandu Gurung personally distributed cheques to the beneficiaries. The financial aid was handed over directly at their doorsteps, ensuring timely relief for those who suffered losses. The event was attended by local dignitaries, Gram Panchayat members, and party workers, who extended their support to the affected cattle rearers.
Sanman Rai, a cattle rearer from Samtek Village, was among the recipients of the assistance. He expressed deep gratitude to the Chief Minister for the financial aid, stating that it would help him recover from his losses. "This support is very important for us. Losing livestock is a big setback, and this financial help will allow me to rebuild my income," Rai said.
The outbreak of Lumpy Skin Disease had severely affected many farmers in the region, leading to significant losses of milch animals. The government’s compensation scheme was announced to help cattle rearers overcome these challenges and restore their livelihood. Officials assured that similar assistance would be provided to others affected by such unforeseen losses in the future.
