Marathon Man Amar Subba secured 5th place in the 25 km Trail Run at the prestigious Jumping Gorilla Mountain Ultra Trail Running Championship held in Pune on January 12, 2025. Subba's remarkable performance came after a challenging setback during the 100 km race, where he fell ill due to a viral infection.

Subba, who had been pushing through the grueling 100 km run, was advised by doctors to take a rest after five hours of intense running due to his deteriorating health. Despite the setback, Subba's resolve remained unshaken. The next day, after consultations with medical professionals, the event organizers permitted him to participate in the 25 km race.

Subba took to the trail, and his hard work paid off as he clinched the 5th spot in the Open Categories, competing against 59 other runners.

Subba expressed heartfelt gratitude to Mr. Tenzing Norbu Bhutia, General Secretary of the Gangtok to South West Taxi Jeep Driver's Association for his steadfast support throughout the championship.
