In a historic first, Yangang is set to host the International Youth Conclave for Tourism Development from April 12 to 14, 2025. The highly anticipated summit aims to redefine sustainable tourism in Sikkim, bringing together 176 top industry leaders from across India and around the world.

The conclave, organized by the Yangang Tourism Development Committee (YTDC) with the backing of the Government of Sikkim and the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department, will serve as a platform to explore innovative ideas, promote responsible tourism, and celebrate 50 years of Sikkim’s statehood.

With Yangang’s serene landscape as the backdrop, the event will focus on eco-friendly tourism initiatives, global collaborations, and strategies to enhance Sikkim’s presence on the world tourism map. Experts from the hospitality, travel, and environmental sectors will share insights on sustainable tourism, aligning with the state’s commitment to preserving its rich biodiversity while fostering economic growth.

"This conclave marks a significant step in positioning Sikkim as a world-class tourism destination," said an official from the Tourism & Civil Aviation Department. "It is an opportunity to bring together young minds, industry pioneers, and policy-makers to drive a sustainable future for tourism."

Delegates from leading travel organizations, hospitality chains, and environmental agencies will converge in Yangang, making this conclave a melting pot of ideas and strategies. The event will feature panel discussions, workshops, and networking sessions aimed at boosting youth participation in the tourism sector.

Sikkim, known for its eco-tourism model and organic farming initiatives, is keen to set an example in balancing tourism with environmental conservation. Yangang’s selection as the host city underscores its potential as an emerging tourism hub and reflects the government’s vision to expand tourism beyond Gangtok and other well-known destinations.

As Sikkim commemorates 50 years of statehood, the conclave will also highlight the state's remarkable journey in tourism, culture, and sustainable development. The event will offer a cultural showcase of local traditions, eco-tourism success stories, and a roadmap for the next phase of tourism growth.
