Sikkim Women's Football Team to compete in National Games for the first time, CM Golay extends best wishes

In a historic moment for Sikkim, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang said that the state’s Women’s Football Team has been nominated to participate in the 38th National Games, set to be held in Uttarakhand in February 2025. This marks the first time a women’s football team from Sikkim has earned the honor of competing at the prestigious event.
"It brings me immense joy and pride to announce that our State Women’s Football Team has been nominated to participate in the 38th National Games under the Women’s Football category," said Tamang. He attributed the nomination to the team’s exceptional performances during the 2023-24 season of the Senior National Football Championships.
"Their achievement reflects their unwavering pursuit of excellence in the beautiful game of football," Tamang added.
The Chief Minister extended his heartiest congratulations and best wishes to the team, emphasizing the pride they have brought to the state.
