SIkkim: Woman, minor found dead in STNM hospital
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old minor from Lower Lasso, Gyalshing District, was found hanging in her room in Pakyong District on December 31, 2024.

Priyanka Sharma, a 39-year-old woman from Patna, Bihar, was brought dead to STNM Hospital’s emergency ward on December 31, 2024. A report filed by Dr. Birendra Chettri indicated a history of unconsciousness prior to her death. The body has been preserved at the hospital mortuary for further legal proceedings. Sadar Police have registered the case under FIR No. 111/2024, U/S 194 of the BNSS Act, 2023.
In a separate incident, a 15-year-old minor from Lower Lasso, Gyalshing District, was found hanging in her room in Pakyong District on December 31, 2024. The tragic discovery was reported by Kharka Bahadur Chettri, a resident of Lower Dalapchand. Authorities suspect no foul play at this stage. The Pakyong District Magistrate was informed to facilitate an inquest, which is scheduled for January 1, 2025.
