Sikkim Senior Men’s Team secured a commendable 30-run victory against Meghalaya in a Group B match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, thanks to an all-round performance by Paljor Tamang.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, Sikkim managed to post a modest total of 181 in 44.2 overs. The innings was stabilized by Paljor Tamang, who top-scored with a composed 53 off 74 balls. His vital 72-run partnership with Parth Palawat (34) rescued Sikkim from a precarious 63 for 4. Despite their efforts, regular wickets curtailed Sikkim's innings before they could achieve a more competitive score.

Meghalaya's chase faltered against a disciplined Sikkim bowling attack, eventually being bowled out for 151 in 47.1 overs. Paljor Tamang led the charge with the ball, claiming three crucial wickets for just 27 runs, including the dismissal of top-scorer Akash Choudhary (62). Supporting him were Md Talim, Md Saptulla, and Ankur Malik, each contributing two wickets to seal the victory.

For his all-round heroics, Paljor Tamang was deservedly named Player of the Match.

In a statement, the Sikkim Cricket Association expressed pride in the team's performance. “This win serves as evidence of the progress of cricket in Sikkim and inspires us to strive for greater heights. We also extend our gratitude to the fans and supporters who continue to encourage and motivate our players,” the association said.
