Sikkim weather update: Light rain and snowfall forecast for higher altitudes

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a detailed weather forecast for Sikkim, predicting light to moderate rainfall and snowfall over higher altitudes in several districts over the next few days.
Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall at higher altitudes are expected in Gangtok, Gyalshing, Mangan and Namchi districts from January 25-26. Soreng and Pakyong are likely to experience light rain at isolated places.
Weather conditions will remain largely dry across the state, with light rain or snowfall at higher altitudes anticipated in a few isolated areas from January 26-27.

Light to moderate rainfall and snowfall are likely to continue in higher-altitude areas in Gangtok, Mangan, and Gyalshing districts. Namchi and Soreng may witness light rain at a few locations from January 28-30.
The weather is expected to turn predominantly dry, providing some respite from precipitation. However, isolated areas at higher altitudes may still experience light rain or snow from January 30-February 1.
Residents and travelers in higher-altitude regions have been advised to exercise caution due to possible slippery roads and reduced visibility. Those planning treks or outdoor activities should monitor weather updates and plan accordingly.
