A joint inspection was successfully carried out today by the Urban Development Department (UDD) in Soreng, led by Bishal Mukhia, Additional Secretary, UDD Jorethang. The inspection team included Mr. K.S. Rai, Deputy Secretary, Joint Chief Town Planner, Assistant Town Planner, Bazaar Officer (UDD Soreng), and officials from Jorethang Circle Office and UDD Engineering Cell Chakung.
The inspection aimed to ensure compliance with government policies, address infrastructural needs, and promote administrative efficiency. Several key issues were discussed with the UDD Soreng officials:
• ‘Swacha Bhavna, Swacha Sanskar’ Initiative: The Additional Secretary emphasized the importance of cleanliness and responsible urban management. Officers were urged to maintain hygiene in public spaces and foster community participation in cleanliness drives. Regular monitoring and collective responsibility were highlighted as essential measures.
• Work Ethics and Responsibilities: Emphasis was placed on fostering a cooperative work environment. The Additional Secretary stressed empathy and understanding in the workplace, especially regarding leave and emergencies, while ensuring that work responsibilities are met without disruption.
• Rules and Regulations: Staff were reminded to follow government guidelines and encouraged to conduct regular internal reviews to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.
• Infrastructure Needs: Immediate requests for new office furniture and urgent repairs to the UDD building were raised by the Bazaar Officer.
The inspection concluded with directives to improve operational efficiency and foster a cleaner, more organized work culture within the department.
