Sikkim: Two injured in Namchi road accident

Good Samaritans rushed the injured to District Hospital Namchi. According to doctors, Ashish Thapa sustained a fractured left hand and a head injury, while Manita Pradhan suffered multiple bodily injuries.

A scooty accident on Namchi-Bhanzyang Road left two individuals injured on January 3, 2025. The victims, identified as rider Manita Pradhan (25) and pillion Ashish Thapa (18), both residents of Middle Phalidara, were returning from Namchi Bazaar when their scooty lost control and fell approximately 30 feet from a bridge.

Good Samaritans rushed the injured to District Hospital Namchi. According to doctors, Ashish Thapa sustained a fractured left hand and a head injury, while Manita Pradhan suffered multiple bodily injuries. The scooty involved in the accident was seized by police, and formalities, including photography and videography of the scene, were completed. The case, registered as FIR No. 01/2025 under Sections 289/125/125(A)/125(B) of BNSS, 2023, is under investigation. No arrests or detentions have been reported.
