Sikkim Transport Department launches “SARATHI of the Month” initiative to boost online taxi services
As part of this program, drivers completing the highest number of rides through the Sikkim Cab app will be recognized and rewarded every month.

The Transport Department of Sikkim has introduced the “SARATHI of the Month” initiative to promote the use of the Sikkim Cab app, a digital platform for booking taxis. This initiative, launched for January 2025, aims to encourage taxi drivers to offer efficient and reliable services through the app, particularly in the “Sharing Basis” category for routes between Gangtok, Siliguri, Bagdogra, and New Jalpaiguri (NJP).
As part of this program, drivers completing the highest number of rides through the Sikkim Cab app will be recognized and rewarded every month. Rinzing Sherpa has been named the first “SARATHI of the Month” for January 2025. He will receive his award during the SARATHI SAMMAN DIWAS on July 27, 2025, in a ceremony presided over by the Chief Minister of Sikkim.
The initiative aims to improve the overall efficiency of taxi services in the state, ensuring better accessibility for passengers while motivating drivers to adopt digital booking platforms.
