Sikkim: Traffic diversion in Pakyong district due to road work
According to the order, all vehicles will be prohibited from using the Aritar-Maneydara road between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily until further notice.

To improve infrastructure, the Superintendent of Police, Pakyong District has announced a temporary traffic closure on the Aritar-Maneydara road starting December 20, 2024. The closure is part of road carpeting work aimed at enhancing the quality of the road.
According to the order, all vehicles will be prohibited from using the Aritar-Maneydara road between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM daily until further notice. This closure will remain in effect during the ongoing roadwork.
Commuters are advised to take an alternate route via Kingstone Simana Khola road and Rongli Dalapchand road to avoid disruptions. The road closure order has been issued under Section 159(2) of the Sikkim Police Act, 2008, ensuring the safety of both workers and travelers.
The Superintendent of Police has asked the public to plan their travel accordingly and utilize the alternate routes during the specified hours. The Roads and Bridges Department has been instructed to complete the work as quickly as possible to minimize the inconvenience caused to local residents and travelers.
