The Government of Sikkim has announced grand year-long celebrations to mark a major milestone in the state’s history. As part of the events, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be the Chief Guest and will inaugurate several key projects aimed at boosting healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure development in the state.

The celebrations will include cultural events, exhibitions, and special programs highlighting Sikkim’s progress and achievements over the years. The government aims to showcase the state’s growth in healthcare, connectivity, and heritage preservation.

Major Projects to be inaugurated by PM Modi

During his visit, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the following projects:

1. 500-Bedded Namchi District Hospital

A state-of-the-art healthcare facility equipped with modern medical infrastructure.

Aimed at enhancing healthcare services and meeting the growing medical needs of the people.

Expected to become a regional hub for advanced medical care.

2. Swarna Jayanthi Maitreya Manjri

A symbolic tribute to Sikkim’s Golden Jubilee celebrations.

3. Atal Bihari Vajpayee Statue

A tribute to the former Prime Minister, recognizing his visionary leadership.

Will serve as an iconic landmark and historical reminder.

4. Passenger Ropeway at Sangachoeling

A new tourism and connectivity project to boost local travel.

Provides breathtaking views of Sikkim’s natural beauty, attracting more tourists.

Aims to enhance accessibility and economic opportunities for local communities.

The government has planned a series of events throughout the year, including:

Speaking about the event, Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi for his support in Sikkim’s growth journey. He highlighted that these projects will strengthen healthcare, tourism, and infrastructure, improving the quality of life for the people of Sikkim.

With the launch of the Passenger Ropeway at Sangachoeling, the state government aims to boost tourism and make travel easier in hilly areas. The Namchi District Hospital will ensure that people have access to top-quality medical care without having to travel far.
