Sikkim to celebrate Aama Samman Diwas on August 10 at Rangpo ground

The Government of Sikkim will observe Aama Samman Diwas on August 10, 2025, at Rangpo Ground, as part of its continued efforts to recognise the love, sacrifice, and dedication of mothers across the state. The day is celebrated every year to honour mothers for the important role they play in building families, shaping society, and nurturing the future generation.

Aama Samman Diwas, which means "Mother’s Honour Day", has been officially notified by the state government to be celebrated on 10th August every year. The aim is to show respect, appreciation, and gratitude to mothers for their lifelong commitment to their children and their families. This special occasion gives the people of Sikkim an opportunity to come together and say "thank you" to mothers everywhere.

This year’s celebration will be held in Rangpo with much love and respect. The event will be graced by the Honourable Chief Minister of Sikkim, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), who will lead the celebrations and interact with the people attending. As a key part of the event, the Chief Minister will provide financial assistance to selected beneficiaries under the Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana, a scheme designed to empower mothers and improve their financial condition.

The Sikkim Aama Sashaktikaran Yojana is an important welfare scheme launched by the state government. It supports mothers across the state by offering financial help, especially to those who need it the most. The goal is to make mothers more independent and confident so they can take better care of themselves and their families. The assistance given under this scheme also helps in reducing financial stress in households, especially in rural areas.
