Sikkim: Tamang community invites Sardha Pakhrin-Golay to Sonam Lochar celebrations

The State-Level Tamang Committee extended a warm invitation to Smt. Sardha Pakhrin-Golay, the Hon’ble Spouse of Sikkim’s Chief Minister, to participate in the Sonam Lochar Festival, scheduled for January 27, 2025 at Jautaar Stadium in Soreng District.
A delegation, comprising the committee’s President, senior citizens, and executive members, met Smt. Pakhrin-Golay at her residence in Singling, Soreng, to convey New Year greetings for 2025 and formally invite her to the state-level celebration.
During the meeting, the delegation expressed deep gratitude for Pakhrin-Golay’s steadfast support in promoting Sikkim’s diverse cultural heritage. They praised her leadership in fostering unity and harmony among the state’s various communities.
Pakhrin-Golay graciously accepted the invitation and assured her full support for the festival, emphasizing the importance of preserving and showcasing the rich traditions of the Tamang community. “Events like the Sonam Lochar Festival not only strengthen cultural bonds but also serve as a platform to highlight Sikkim’s heritage at state and national levels,” she said.
She commended the efforts of the Tamang Committee and encouraged the promotion of traditional cultural practices to inspire future generations. Pakhrin-Golay also lauded the state government, led by Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang for its commitment to safeguarding and strengthening the cultural legacy of Sikkim’s diverse communities.
