Sikkim: Successful completion of football coaching camp in Rangang Yangang constituency

The month-long Football Coaching Camp held at the Dojok School Playground in the 15-Rangang Yangang Constituency concluded on a high note today, with Hon'ble Deputy Speaker of the Sikkim Legislative Assembly (SLA), Raj Kumari Thapa, gracing the closing ceremony as the Chief Guest. Organized by the Dojok Youth Club and Dojok Sporting Club, the camp aimed to promote football among the youth and instill discipline through sports, under the guidance of the Hon'ble Deputy Speaker and Area MLA.

The event was attended by several distinguished guests, including Zilla Panchayat Yapchung Bhutia, Nirmala Sherpa (Panchayat President of Rabong-Khop GPU), Panchayat Members, Karma Subba (OSD to HCM, Political Affairs), CL Gurung (Panchayat Cell President, Namchi District) and various other local dignitaries and community members. The gathering was further enriched by the presence of local residents and SKM party members, all of whom were warmly welcomed by the organizing committee.

During the event, Bijendra Rai, the camp coordinator, highlighted the key objectives of the program. He stated the importance of engaging young football enthusiasts and guiding them towards personal development and discipline through the sport. The camp was conducted under the theme "Nasha Mukta Sikkim" (Addiction-Free Sikkim), aligning with the vision of the Chief Minister, Prem Singh Tamang to promote healthy living and steer youth away from substance abuse.

She commended the organizing committee for their efforts and stressed the importance of such initiatives, not only for sports promotion but also for fostering discipline and positive values among the youth. She assured her continued support for similar programs aimed at youth empowerment and societal development.

The closing ceremony was marked by a lively cultural program and a friendly football match, with the participants showcasing the skills they had developed throughout the camp. A total of 34 students, aged between 10 and 14, took part in this year's winter football coaching camp, gaining valuable experience and life skills.
