Sikkim strength lifting team gears up for National Championship in Haryana

A 47-member contingent from the Sikkim Strength Lifting Association is set to represent the state at the 34th National Strength Lifting and Incline Bench Press Championship. The prestigious event will be held in Haryana from January 1 to 5, 2025.
The team, consisting of 34 men and 13 women, will be led by the association’s chief coach, Pema Dorjee Bhutia. Speaking at a press conference in Gangtok on Sunday, Vice President Allen Targain and Coach Bhutia expressed confidence in the team’s preparedness. “Our athletes have trained rigorously and are ready to compete at the national level,” Targain stated.
Coach Bhutia highlighted the dedication and hard work of the participants, emphasizing their readiness to perform and bring accolades to Sikkim. The team will depart for Haryana on December 30, giving them ample time to acclimatize and prepare for the competition.
