Sikkim: State-level Sonam Lochhar celebration committee 2025 formed in Gangtok

The first coordination meeting for the Sonam Lochhar 2025 celebrations was held today at a hotel in Gangtok, culminating in the formation of the State-Level Celebration Committee. The meeting was chaired by Hon’ble MLA Shri Aditya Golay, with prominent dignitaries and representatives from the Tamang community in attendance.
Key attendees included Former MLA Farwanti Tamang, Press Secretary to the Chief Minister Yougan Tamang, Councillor (Deorali) Shri Norbu Tamang, Secretary of Culture Basant Kumar Lama and several other community leaders and social workers from across Sikkim's six districts.
The meeting finalized the formation of the State-Level Core Executive Committee, District Committees, and Sub-Committees through unanimous consensus. Aditya Golay spoke on the cultural importance of Sonam Lochhar and called for active participation from the Tamang community to ensure the event’s success.
“Sonam Lochhar is not just a festival; it is a celebration of our rich heritage. Let us all work together to make this event meaningful and memorable,” Golay said.
