The 34th edition of the Sikkim State Badminton Championship 2025 concluded in Gangtok with a vibrant display of sporting talent, marking yet another milestone in the state’s badminton journey. The championship, which ran for several days, drew participation from over 250 shuttlers representing all six districts of Sikkim, making it one of the biggest badminton events the state has ever witnessed.
The closing ceremony was graced by Shri Aditya Golay, MLA from Soreng-Chakung constituency, who attended as the Chief Guest. Addressing the gathering, he praised the young players for their dedication and enthusiasm while encouraging them to continue working hard to bring glory to the state at national and international platforms. “Badminton in Sikkim is no longer just a recreational sport, it has become a source of pride for our youth. The championship was organized by the Badminton Association of Sikkim, which is led by its President, Shri Jacob Khaling. The association ensured smooth conduct of the tournament with matches spread across various age groups and categories. The event included singles and doubles competitions for boys, girls, men, and women, providing equal opportunity to both young aspirants and seasoned players to showcase their skills.
