Sikkim: SDM Soreng chairs DLCC-DLRC meeting to boost financial inclusion

A District Level Consultative Committee (DLCC) cum District Level Review Committee (DLRC) meeting was held today at Rurban Complex Hall, Soreng, under the chairmanship of SDM Soreng, Ms. Sakchum Lepcha. The meeting saw the participation of officials from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), State Bank of India (SBI), representatives from various banks, and officials from different departments.

During the meeting, SDM Soreng emphasized the importance of manpower availability for Financial Literacy Camps (FLCs) and assured banks that the District Administration would provide additional support if needed. She urged banks to ensure that financial literacy efforts reach all sections of society effectively.

The review meeting assessed the performance of various banks, focusing on key financial agendas such as:

✔ Annual Credit Plan for Priority Sectors

✔ Agriculture and MSME Sector Lending

✔ Government-Sponsored Schemes

✔ Kisan Credit Card (KCC) for Animal Husbandry & Fisheries

✔ Social Security Schemes

✔ Expansion of Digital Payments Ecosystem

✔ Housing & Education Loan Schemes

✔ Financial Literacy & Credit Counselling (FLCC)

✔ Block Level Bankers’ Committee (BLBC) Meetings
