Sikkim: School guard arrested for assaulting minor in Nayabazaar

In Nayabazaar, a 25-year-old night guard, Pramil Rai, allegedly assaulted a 17-year-old girl at K…… Senior Secondary School. The incident, which took place on March 15, 2025, in the school’s laboratory, was reported to Nayabazaar Police Station through a written complaint.
The victim, the daughter of a school employee, said Rai touched her private parts externally and forced her to touch his in the same way. He also made her watch a pornographic video. Rai was detained under Section 35 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), 2023, and the case was registered under the POCSO Act, 2012.
